Quinta do Retiro: Nature holiday in Central Portugal
Quinta do Retiro is a small-scale and child-friendly holiday park in Central Portugal with four beautiful holiday homes and a small charming nature campsite. There are also some fully furnished family tents. The beautifully landscaped ecological swimming pool makes our holiday park unique according to our guests. In the summer there are always several families with children of all ages. So small enough to be small-scale, but large enough so that children can still connect with other children. We can host groups up to 130 guests.
Green oasis with a babbling river
The fourteen-hectare quinta is located in a secluded, small valley with a beautiful terraced landscape. The holiday homes and the nature campsite are located on their own part of the site because there is enough space. The atmosphere is rural, varied and green with many fruit trees, olives and grape vines. A river with some rock formations and waterfalls cuts through the site.

Quinta do Retiro is located just outside the village of Covas near Tábua and Oliveira do Hospital in the Dão wine region (Central Portugal). This region is located between the mountains of the Serra da Estrela National Park with the Torre as the highest mountain in Portugal, the Serra Açor and the Serra Caramulo. Two larger rivers run through the area. The Rio Mondego and the Rio Alva with its many beautiful river beaches. There is definitely no mass tourism. The area is especially popular with nature lovers, hikers and cyclists who love peace, space and authentic villages with a very friendly population.

A camping pitch is suitable for your camper or caravan, trailer tent or (roof)tent. We will find the best pitch together with you. A pitch is suitable for 1 camping vehicle up to 6 people. On request, we will find connecting pitches for family or friends. You can always indicate your preference, we will try to take this into account as much as possible.
You can arrive at any time of the day. It is possible that the pitch you want is not yet available. You can then walk around or relax at the pool. Check-in is possible every day between 15 and 20 pm. Are you arriving later? Please announce! Then we will show you a spot and do check in the next morning. After 21h we not receive new guests.
Reception is closed between 12-15h; is your arrival within these hours? Please park first on our P. You can walk around or relax at the pool. We will find you, pls not worry. We pretend you are on holiday 🙂
